Oh dear, why is Iceland so expensive.... Right in front where I live is this amazing shop
called Hrím (on Laugarvegi 25). I've been there already three or four times, because these
things there are just gorgeous! I would buy everything, if I could. :-) You should definitely
visit this shop, if you are in Reykjavik. Just to look at pretty things!

Fun fact about Iceland: Candy is half price on the weekends! How awesome is that?!
So I went to the candy store and bought some sweets.

– view over Reykjavik –
After a hangover breakfast with one of the guides, I went to explore Reykjavik again. I
like wandering around this city, so many cool places. First I went to the church called
Hallgrímskirkja. You can go to the top and have a really nice view over Reykjavik. So
after that, I crossed the street to go to a really nice garden behind the Listasafn Einars
Jónssonar museum. There a some amazing sculptures (You can just walk into this garden, it's free).

I thought after seeing so many nice things, I could go back to my attic :-) and just chill.
But you can't do that here. I ran into some guys and we went out for dinner. The place
was really awesome – Santa Karamba. One of the guides is best friends with the owner
and so we even got chilli chocolate ice-cream on the house! A really authentic place!

So it was Saturday and the last night of some guides, leaving for Nepal, I guess they
wanna escape the darkness here. And we partied again. Same story as yesterday!
Including running into some girl from Germany, 30 min away where I live. Small world.

Today was my real first day in Reykjavik, Iceland. After moving into my disgusting, little attic
I went to the mall with my blue single-speed bike. I got completely lost on my way, but I
figured it out. Reykjavik is not thaaaat big. :-)

The reason I went to mall was because I am stupid. No, not really. But back in Germany my
Grandmother bought me this really good and water-proofed jacket. It is so cool, it is so thin,
it doesn't even need space in your bag. And here comes the stupid part. I only packed one
sweater for Iceland. I know... And this one sweater is red. And I really don't like red
combined with green and purple. So anyway, I went to the mall to buy a fluffy down
jacket to wear under my fancy outdoor jacket. Its pink. Just that you guys know. :-)

– the harbor in Reykjavik –
On my first day in Reykjavik I didnt do that much. It was a Friday so everybody was really
looking forward the weekend. My friend picked me up in the morning and we organized
some stuff. The rest of the day I just wandered around the city. When I got back to the hostel,
the people figured out how to open my apartment – it wasnt closed at all, haha.

But when I entered, I was really glad that they didnt figure it out last night. It was kind
of disgusting. Really dirty, stuff laying around and everywhere hairs. The mattress was
covered with patches and so on... So the first thing we did after that, bringing a whole new
bed, a mattress, fresh sheets and some cushions from another place. Yeah. First day.
